Julio Cesar Chavez eager to fight

In a fight that hasn’t yet been finalized, Julio Cesar Chavez agreed to face a stern penalty for failing to make weight in a proposed match up with Gennady Golovkin. Chavez will face a 1 million dollar fine if he cannot make the weight that is agreed upon by the two middleweight stars. This can be perceived as refreshing news. Chavez has had recent troubles with making weight & has seemed lackluster in his zeal for the sport, for starters. Along with this fact, it is certainly nice to see two men eager to fight each other, one so much so that he will put a large sum of money on the line. Fans should appreciate this fact.

Recently, in his first match up with Bryan Vera, Chavez came in overweight. He did not face a seven figure fine for this, but he certainly met the criticism of boxing analysts all around. He was perceived as lazy, undisciplined, & even spoiled by many. Golovkin however, has been one of the most liked fighters in all of boxing recently. He has knocked out opponent after opponent, most in devastating fashion. Many have questioned only the quality of the opposition put in front of him, wondering if he is at an elite status.

It would be good for fans & for both men if this fight is finalized. The two are at interesting points in their respective careers & would make an interesting contest of sheer athleticism coming from Chavez & unheralded power from Golovkin.
