Lita Mae Button could fight for title

The first Nordic Women’s Coliseum Boxing card, there were several fighters who were making their debuts at the event. One competitor who stood out this evening was Lita Mae Button.

Known as “Badass” – and rightfully so – Button (1-0) fought fellow newcomer and MMA veteran Maureen “Baby Face” Riordon in the co-main event of the evening. Although Riordon (0-1) was able to stand and throw some counter punches, Button displayed great technical skill and aggression during all four rounds.

Although it was her professional debut, Button looked like a veteran wh had been in the ring dozens of times, which is true. , She has had over 40 amateur fights under her belt

Button wants to fight for a world championship down the road.

There’s quite a journey in fighting for a world championship. A prospective challenger has to face that is more experienced and knows the fight game inside and out. Yet I think Button is up for the challenge. She shows dedication, not only in her craft, but also her personal life.

If she can pick up a few more wins on her fight resume, she could challenge one of the three 140-pound world title holders Fernanda Soledad Alegre (WBO), Alejandra Marina Oliveras (WBC) or Ana Laura Esteche (WBA). The IBF light welterweight championship is vacant at the moment and Button could face another worthy contender for that title. Who knows, it could be a rematch against the Baby Face warrior she fought in her first bout.
