Eileen Olszewski faces Christina Fuentes

IFBA International flyweight champion and UBF international female flyweight champion Eileen Olszewski returns to action when she faces Texas native and prospect Christina Fuentes in Brooklyn, New York, Sept. 5.

Olszewski (9-5-2, 1 KOs) is coming off a big win back in January, defeating MMA fighter Jodie Esquibel to win the UBF title. “The Hawaiian Mongoose,” has gone 2-3 in her last five fights. From June 2011 to March 2013 she was on a three-fight losing streak. She rebounded in September 2013 when she beat Patricia Alcivar to win the IFBA crown. Olszewski will not only have the advantage when it comes to experience, but also when it comes to the crowd.

Fuentes (3-6-4)  is a combatant who is finding her way in the sport. She comes into the fight off of a decision loss against Tyrieshia Douglas back in June. Olszewski should be a good test for her. Although she has six losses on her record, all of the defeats have been by decision, including a controversial split against Heather Hardy back in February.

Between her tilts with Douglas and Hardy, Fuentes picked up a win over Mikayla Nebel. If she can beat Olszewski, it could be the launching pad she needs to get a title match.
